meet Sarah

Sarah Goggans is a natural connector who loves bringing people together around good conversation, great energy, and a little friendly competition. With a passion for hospitality and creating meaningful experiences, Sarah founded House of Bam to create a place where people can gather, play, and feel at home.

Our Story

From a single mahjong table to a thriving community

Where It Started

It all started around a mahjong table. Every week, the same women gathered in the same home to play mahjong, share stories, laugh, and celebrate. Those evenings became more than a weekly game—they became a place for connection and familiar faces. In a world of busy schedules and fleeting interactions, it was a reminder that meaningful friendships aren’t built by chance. They’re built by showing up.

The Big Question

So, why wasn’t there a place built for exactly this? Atlanta has no shortage of events, but there was something missing: a place designed for people to belong, not just somewhere to show up once. House of Bam was created to be a home base—a place women can return to week after week to connect, play, celebrate, and build lasting friendships.

Meet the Founder

Meet Sarah Goggans. Founder Sarah Goggans built her career around relationships and hospitality. She understood what made those weekly mahjong games so special: they gave people a reason to keep coming back. So she set out to build the place she wished already existed. A place to play. A place to connect. A place to belong.

More Than Mahjong

Mahjong is where we gather. Community is why we stay. House of Bam brings together accomplished, curious, and socially engaged women through elevated experiences, thoughtfully designed spaces, and a recurring calendar of programming. From mahjong and guided play to social events and celebrations, every experience is designed to make connection feel effortless—and fun.

The table is already taking shape. House of Bam is currently building its community through pop-up mahjong events across Atlanta. Every pop-up is an opportunity to meet someone new, reconnect with familiar faces, and become part of House of Bam from the very beginning.
